Sustain US jobs by empowering commercial and industrial consumers to remain profitable by procuring electricity and natural gas competitively and recovering overpayments for these commodities.
With the beginning of electric deregulation at the retail level in Illinois in 1999, MASCO shifted the entire focus of its business from performing the above services to assisting commercial and industrial retail electric customers in buying lower cost electricity supply than the local electric utility could provide. Since 1999, MASCO has saved many commercial and industrial retail electric customers in Illinois over $100 million in aggregate. In March of 2000, MASCO expanded its array of services to include the recovery of refunds for overpayments by these above type customers from electricity and gas suppliers. Since 2000, MASCO has recovered a total of over $17 million for many retail electric customers in Illinois. Some of MASCO’s most notable refund recoveries have been for The John Hancock Center, The Sears Tower and Borg Warner Automotive in Bellwood, Illinois.
